This is one of those books that every woman should read. The whole story revolves around the 35-year-old Luce and her partner Pietro - a contemporary drama with a pocketful of emotions and controversy.

Luce writes articles in an Italian magazine. She interacts with her readers, constantly giving answers to their questions and carefully listening to the confessions they send her anonymously. Luce's life will get a new dimension when she finally remains pregnant after several years of constant failure. Her happiness becomes limitless. She's carrying a boy named Lorenzo and as time goes by, she dreams of that one particular day when she'll finally meet him and feel his tiny hands.

By the third trimester of her pregnancy, her doctor notes that something is wrong with Lorenzo's growth and after a series of analyses, they determine that the child would surely have a serious diagnosis when born, so Luce is advised to consider whether she wants to continue her pregnancy or not. There is one more thing: in Italy, abortion is not allowed in such a late phase of the pregnancy, so the closest destination for such an activity is based in England.
Luce and Pietro have to decide what they'll do...

Luce has the feeling that she is alone on her path and that no one can comfort her. She has no close friends, her relationship with her mother is terrible, and just before she sinks even deeper into her depression, she finds support on an online forum where several hundred women have already shared stories similar to hers.

Will she find comfort for her pain and will she find the strength to move forward along with Pietro?

A wonderful book that depicts a sad reality and a cruel struggle with yourself, including everyone around you. Full of bittersweet emotions, and I personally don't believe that anyone would be indifferent to, especially a woman who at some point may or have already walked in the same shoes as Luce.

It surely will remain in my memory forever.
5-stars!
