This is an interesting book and contains a lot for its 42 pages. A history of origami is given from the earliest times to now. The book explains how origami is "an illustration of schematic learning through repetitive activities" and goes into detail about how origami can help students from children through adults gain valuable skills. There's a lot here on the theory of teaching origami as well. There is also an interesting section on taking pictures of your creations which covers using a camera as well as editing the results. The book also does give the reader some simple origami project, and describes the folds used to make them.

There are, however, a couple of flaws in this book-- one of them rather major. There is not a single picture in the book. The instructions that go with the projects keep referring to photos and illustrations, but they are not in the ebook. This made the instructions for the projects useless to me. The second problem is that John Smith's native language is not English. The grammar is mostly fine, but his choice of words can take some deciphering on the part of the reader. Nevertheless, the history and theory; and especially the chapter on photography were quite worthwhile.
