I came across 'Building An Ark: 101 Solutions to Animal Suffering' in my local bookstore. I was impressed by the quality of the information provided. The book assumes no specific basic knowledge and is thus accessible to anyone. Yet is so well researched and referenced that it is also of interest to readers like myself who are already versed in the various issues considered.

'Building An Ark: 101 Solutions to Animal Suffering' is divided in two parts. The first one presents all the background information necessary to have a good overview of what animal suffering is, and what leads to it. The second part contains the '101 Solutions': all tangible, easy to implement actions that individuals, businesses, governmental institutions and / or other organizations can take to make the world a better place for the animals, but also people and our environment. It is well written, clear and concise, yet full of practical information and empowering examples. Its positive, highly educational and mind opening approach makes it an excellent tool to educate children and young adults about the plight of nonhuman animals in our society and make them realize how their own actions can affect the world in positive way.
