Dr Brenda Smith works regularly as consultant, clinician, and conductor with amateur and professional choirs throughout the world. As coordinator of musical activities at the German School of Middlebury College in Vermont, Dr Smith founded and directed the "German for Singers" program. Dr Smith is afficher plus the Two-College Choir Interest chair for the Florida chapter of the American Choral Directors Association. She studied at the University of Evansville, the Hochschule fur Kirchenmusik der Evangelischen Kirche von Westfalen/Herford in Germany, and the Hochschule fur Musik und darstellende Kunst/Hamburg in Germany. She holds a master of music degree in voice performance from Westminster Choir College, Princeton NJ and a doctor of musical arts degree in vocal pedagogy and performance from the University of Maryland, College Park, MD. Dr Smith has taught at Westminster Choir College, Dickinson College, and Rowan University of New Jersey. At Manatee Community College in Bradenton Florida, Dr. Smith is the director of vocal studies and chair of the music department. Robert T. Sataloff, MD, DMA, is professor of otolaryngology at Jefferson Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University; chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology--Head and Neck Surgery of the Graduate Hospital; adjunct professor, Department of Otolaryngology--Head and Neck Surgery at Georgetown University; adjunct professor of Otorhinolaryngology at The University of Pennsylvania; on the faculties of the Academy of Vocal Arts and the Curtis Institute of Music; conductor of the Thomas Jefferson University Choir and Orchestra; director of the Jefferson Arts-Medicine Center, and the chairman of the board of directors of the Voice Foundation and of the American Institute for Voice and Ear Research. He holds an undergraduate degree from Haverford College in Music Theory and Composition, a medical degree from Thomas Jefferson Medical College, received a doctor of musical arts in voice performance from Combs College of Music, and completed his residency in otolaryngology--head and neck surgery at the University of Michigan.
