- Sibylle Severus is the pen name of Sibylle Obrist-Streng, born in Mittenwald, Bavaria, Germany.
She attended a violin making school after graduating from high school. She worked as a master violin maker in Amsterdam and Zurich. Living in Zurich for decades, she studied at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and began to publish literary texts. She's the author of novels, short stories, and essays and is a member of the German-speaking Swiss PEN Center.
