Christopher M. Schroeder is the former CEO of several leading Internet companies as well as a venture investor who has worked with some of the leading Silicon Valley venture capital funds. His Op-ed for the Washington Post in 2010 about the start-ups in the Arab world was the first to focus afficher plus attention on an important wave of change in the Middle East. He was subsequently invited by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's office to judge a start-up competition in Cairo one week before the Tahrir Square demonstrations. He is on the boards of advisers of the American University of Cairo School of Business and the regional start-up resources Wamda and Oasis500. He has written for the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, Tech-Crunch, Pando Daily, AllThingsD, Fortune, and Fast Company, among other publications.
