This is a scholarly text - it is a revision of Savage's doctrinal thesis at Cambridge. Still, it is quite accessible This has some terrific background material on Corinth. Savage really puts you in the middle of 1st century Corinthian culture. I found it very illuminating. I particulary appreciated his comments on 2 Cor 4:6. Good stuff.
