This book advertises itself as intended for advisors getting ready to take crews to Philmont, and it does pretty well at that job. I found it just after coming back from a Philmont trek, and so I read it with both an eye to its accuracy and whether or not it would have told me the things I wished I had known before I went to Philmont. It scores pretty well on both fronts.
It is marred somewhat by some proofreading errors, but while these detract somewhat from the quality of the book, they don't cause any significant issues.
Overall, this is an excellent book for its stated purpose. I strongly recommend it for crews getting ready for Philmont, and suspect Philmont participants will read it with enjoyment.… (plus d'informations)
