I'm so confused about whether or not I read the same book as some of yall.. This was so wildly predictable and the characters were insufferable. Like, I'm sorry but the way the audiobook narrator voiced Chloe and Evie made me want to throw up. The one thing that always kills me with thrillers is how cheesey and uninteresting everything becomes once the twists are revealed. Once I had the slightest inkling of how this book was going to turn out (which was around the 60% mark) I started to lose all interest. Maybe I'm just not a thriller girly but this wasn't for me.

This was definitely a thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat. Just when I thought who did things happened that made me second guess everything. absolutely loved this and highly recommend if you love thrillers that keep you guessing.

DNF at 58%. As so many others have already said, this is a horrible book. The writing is horrible, the story is horrible, and the characters are the most horrible of all. I was going back and forth about whether I wanted to finish this. Could there be some great twist that would make it worth it? But at the halfway point I couldn’t take it anymore. The anger spikes were coming more frequently than Chloe’s BS or Joanne’s “beetroot” flashes. Decided it was time to read some spoiler reviews to see if I was truly wasting my time. The answer was obviously “Yes!”

Richard is the ultimate gaslighter. And if the spoilers are true, he’s an even worse human being for it than your typical manipulator. Chloe is the Devil’s mistress who probably even annoys the lord of the underworld. And I’m racking my brain to think of a more spineless twat MC than Joanne. So far, I’m coming up short.

Garbage.

To start, let me simply mention that I am a psychological thriller nut. But I had some reservations about this book. I thought this book was a tad drawn out and repetitive. I found myself yelling at Joanne, because, I mean, really? Regarding Richard, he is just insane. But this book is so unpredictable that it was impossible to put down. If you enjoy dark and twisty thrillers, this is the book for you.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Got to start off with saying that this was a creepy thriller! And it really hit the psychological aspect on the head! There were some many twists and turns that it really had me all wound up trying to figure out who was the killer and really at the end, I still don’t really know what I know.

The tension is really high in the book, more so as the story progresses, and I find it is a great example of gaslighting and how it really has you doubting everything about yourself. The unreliable narrator really plays into all of it quite well. The narration was done well and helped play into the story.

This book was extremely fast paced that had you needing to know what was going to happen next.

The question kept popping up, even at the end… who can you really trust?

I enjoyed the narrator’s voice, and it was well read.

Thanks to Netgalley, the author, and the publisher for this copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Imagine being married to the most wonderful man in the world…according to everyone except for you. You unfortunately know that this man is controlling and abusive, but you can’t tell anybody because nobody would believe you because he is so wonderful.

Suddenly there is a possible escape in your future. Your mother cannot use tickets for a cruise and suggests that you and your husband go instead. You decide that maybe I’ll just go alone. And you do. Now this book becomes very interesting.

Amy manages to get on this cruise without her controlling husband, Jason. She is quickly befriended by Barbara and Liz who are also traveling by themselves. The women confide in each other and share quite a few drinks until tragedy strikes and Amy has to make a spur of the moment decision when she wakes up in a hospital bed. This decision could ultimately decide the rest of her life.

Without giving away too much, I was glued to this book. Just when I thought things couldn’t get any crazier, things did just that. There are quite a few moments when I thought I knew something but it turned out I was totally incorrect. It’s these little twists that keep me addicted to these thriller books. Don’t trust anyone at any time for any reason. That, in my opinion, is the lesson in this book.

Thank you to BookSirens for providing an e-copy of this book for my voluntary review.
