This review has been very hard for me to write. Normally I love to drone on about all of the things that I find awesome in a book such as the characters, the storyline and uhm...well I can't really say anything else. See what I mean? This is a hard one to write for one simple reason. I don't want to give anything away and I cannot find a single way to address anything that I would like to without ruining some part of the story for you and this is one story I do not want to ruin. It's just one of those books that you have to experience for yourself. Doing anything less will just ruin it for you.
What I can say though is that this book just felt very genuine to me. I could be in the minority on this but I really think that depends on what type of person you are. Are you the type of person that sees the cup half full or the type who sees it as half empty? I'm the type of person who doesn't care whether it's half full or if it's half empty. I'm happy as long as I have a good cup to get a drink with. So to me the tale felt very real. Even though this tale has been told so many times before, it doesn't really matter. What's important is how the tale is told and this one was done beautifully with such a unique voice. The writing was superb, heartbreaking, tense, heartwarming and sweet. The characters were rich and had a great deal of depth. The story literally kept me glued to my kindle for every single moment that I read.
There was plenty of drama for me in this book (I'm a huge drama junkie when it comes to books, not so much in real life) and it was a bit of a dark tale but with plenty of light around the edges like going into a dark tunnel only to finally reach the light at the end. I'd love to say more, I really want to. There's so much I'd like to discuss about this book but can't. You'll just have to take my word for it or better yet grab a sample and see for yourself. This was actually more of a novella but it felt like a full sized novel to me. I'm extremely happy that I bought this book and I'm very much looking forward to reading more from this author. All in all a great book with plenty of heart and soul!… (plus d'informations)
