This story was lacking in that something that should be there. It was really too short to become emotionally involved with the characters, so the story had to stand up instead. Unfortunately, it didn't. There were problems in parts of the story as well. For example, during the accident, Rachel had glass embedded in her face. But afterwards, Jason merely said it was a concussion. I find that hard to believe because blood was covering her entire right side of the face.
