These handful of fables set in #CapeVerde are good, not great. An introduction describing whether they are based on actual fables or the author‘s imagination, and if actual, who was the target audience and how long have the stories existed (at least one is quite modern) would go far in elevating the book. One fable, as told by the narrator to a boy, with a somewhat descriptive sexual act made me wonder! The last one was the best about girl finding a pirate‘s treasure.
