I enjoyed this clean, light romance, YA read. I received it for free in return for a honest review. I've given it a 4* rating. This is about 2 young people at the New York airport. They have both been dumped by current boy/girl friends and it's Christmas Eve. This is an interesting concept that they decided to get over their old dates.Lots is going on until her new flight goes out.A nice weekend read but not real deep.

// Received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review //

"So, look for a door. Theres always a way out. There's always a new path. But you can't find it if you stand still, you know what I mean?"

I thought this was going to be super cliche. . . but it started out pretty different than usual. IT was a very unusual start that left me impressed and really kept me reading.

While the plot in general is kinda cliche, the style of how it was written is pretty unique, appreciated the little twists of. . . well. . . everything to be honest. The character-to-character interactions are pretty cute and I enjoyed them a whole lot. But, I felt like everything was happening too fast, in a way.
I love the idea of having a book that 'helps you forget about your ex',,,, i am amused by the whole idea of it.

This had a very anticipating and intriguing writing style.

Appropriate for teen and YA readers who are in need of a romantic read. XD

Literary Merit: Good
Characterization:Good
Recommendations: Yes especially if you have romance readers
Reading Level: High School

The follow up to Catherine Rider's Kiss Me in New York, is another fantastic Christmas romance read. Serena is all set for a two-day whirlwind family vacation in Paris. She is finally going to get to spend time with her mother and sister in the city that her parents honeymooned in. It will be a time to for their family to heal from her father’s death and remember him in one of the greatest cities in the world. Serena is calling it the Romance Tour. Visiting all the places that her parents went when they were on their honeymoon 25 years ago. But disaster strikes, and she ends up in Paris all by herself days before Christmas. Her mother has a conference that she has to go to in London and her sister decides to go to Madrid with her hot new French boyfriend. But that doesn’t stop Serena from her Romance tour and her goal. To create a scrapbook of all the places her parents went on their honeymoon to give to her mother. Maybe that will finally make her mother not so sad at New Year’s.

When her sister ditches her for Madrid though she isn’t left completely alone. Her sister drops her off with her boyfriend's roommate Jean-Luc. Jean-Luc is about to fail his semester of Photography school and is also heartbroken after his girlfriend dumped him. His dad is also not visiting him during Christmas for the seventh year in a row. Now days before Christmas he is stuck with this American tourist with a crazy list that she is trying to accomplish in just a day. But maybe they can help each other. He still needs to take pictures of Paris for his portfolio, so he doesn’t fail out of school and Serena even though she says she’s got it (probably needs some help with getting around Paris). Together they cross the city in a day but all of Serena’s carefully laid plans start to fly out the window as one disaster after another ensues.

This is a fun fast romance read about one of the greatest cities in the world. Serena and Jean-Luc are both dealing with falling apart families and grief right before Christmas. Together they both explore those feelings and try to figure out who to muddle through their emotions. This is a great Christmas read but also a great read for anyone that has Wanderlust. It will make you want to grab the next airplane to France immediately. A recommended read for any high school collection looking for another wanderlust romance. It is also is pretty clean for the most part (Serena does drink Champagne aboard a the French party boat). For a Romance read it is pretty clean however the characters are older. Serena has just finished her first semester at University and Jean-Luc is also in college. For that reason a high school audience is recommended.

Kiss Me in New York is yet another take on falling in love in one day, similar to The Statistical Probably of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith, The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon and Nikc and Nora's Infinite Playlist by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan. Like all of the above, it is an enjoyable, if unoriginal.

Anthony's girlfriend Maya breaks up with him at JFK, on the day before Christmas, as she returns home from school in California. Charlottle's boyfriend broke up with her two weeks earlier. An exchange student from England, her flight is cancelled due to a snow storm. Vowing to enjoy her last few hours in New York, she gets a cab from the airport, only to find Anthony in the cab as well. Having met for the second time, (the first being an uninspired scene mintues earlier), they end up spending Charlotte's remaining New York hours together, trying to recover from their recent splits, respectively.

As I said earlier, it's a new take on an old theme. Enjoyable but not essential.
