Dorothy Read

This is a wonderful story involving Dorrie Redden and her friends past and present. The story involves a break in to her house, a murder and a stolen painting. It’s a great mystery and I highly recommend this book.

End the Silence is a tremendously, well written story of Ilse and her family during the Japanese invasion of the Dutch East Indies during World War II. The author brings the challenges and daily situations of this child and her family clearly to the reader. How Ilse even survived is totally amazing. If you care about history and human suffering and survival, read this story.
