Critiques

This book by Col. Raina is good, but don't start here if you are interested in Kashmir, its history and its problems. The author presupposed you know a lot about Kashmir. I - despite being an Indian - do not. There are too many narratives, and it is impossible to separate fact from fiction.

His approach is unique: he states a narrative and then debunks it with historical records. The problem is that he expects us to accept his narrative. If you don't understand Kashmir's history and complexity, then study several books before you start this book.

The book's structure is awkward, with links thrown in the centre of the chapters and at the end.
