Lilli Allure is a burlesque performer, When her mom commits suicide she enlists the help of a teenage girl, Gretchen to discover the family secret.

This book sounded promising. It had everything I love in a book, family secret, victorian London, mediums, and lots of history.

The book did start of promising and I did feel quite engrossed. Lilli with Gretchen started putting the family tree together to discover the secret. Then I got bored as nothing else seemed to happen. There were a few elements in the story that just didn't seem realistic.

Two thirds through the book and I'm struggling so I have skipped just for the secret which wasn't anything special. So I'm very disappointed in a what seemed a promising read.

I received this book from Goodreads giveaways. I wanted to read this book as I'll be going to Japan next year and thought it might be intreasting to read and get a feeling for the place and I'll certaintly be looking out for little things now and thinking of Steph.

As soon as Glass Geishas landed on my doormat and I opened to the prologue I couldn't wait to read more. Steph thought she was going to make quick easy money but didn't know about what was happening to her friends Julia and Annabel. As soon as Steph arrives in Japan and can't find Annabel things start to worry Steph and she's on a mission to find out what has happened to Annabel with the help from Annabels diary. But needing money slows her search down. I also loved the charater of Mama, hearing about her life as she was telling George the Journalist, who was writing her book. It was a bit annoying when I had to go back to the main story as I wanted to know more.

I did enjoy reading this but found the further I got into it the slower I got reading it. The jumping between Steph, Mama and Chastity got a bit annoying for me as it felt I was being stopped from reading what I was getting into. I'm glad I stuck to it and finished it, a good read.
