This is mainly for someone really interested in Shanghai who wants to mentally travel back in time to 1928 and look at Shanghai from the point-of-view of its Western residents, or perhaps I should call them occupiers. The ads are perhaps the most interesting part. The history and other parts of the book are, if not always a little one-sided, then at least myopic.
