Roach was a really good book, I really enjoyed reading it. Being a New Yorker, I couldn't imagine this big city being deserted and basically abandoned. I liked the war concept the most. This book really kept me on my toes and thinking and ready to read more. The book started off a bit slow but once the plot thickened it became hard to put down. The ending could've been a bit better, but i guess it makes it good for a sequel? lets hope. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is into hypothetical theories and war or to anyone who just wants to read something good.… (plus d'informations)

America the Beautiful is not the same country. Terrorist attacks have taken their toll and Griffin is tiredly making his way in the new worn out city of New York.

Trains still work, people still work, there is still work. But the best seems to go to the military to continue the fight for survival. All is bad news, people are paranoid and life goes on. Until…

This made me think of what even the most insignificant being brings to the table, whether fumbling for answers, scrounging for friends or just getting out of bed – it has an effect on everyone. An odd little volume of what could happen and how we would adjust. I read it in one sitting.
