Just the thought of a travel book by a 19th century woman crossing the Alps is entertaining. Considering the quality of the roads and the quality of the bikes - not to mention the way 19th century women needed to dress - makes this a unique book.

Although the book is illustrated, the illustrations do not look that good on an e-reader. Also, the author is annoyed during much of her trip and the reader will need to endure enumerable snarky comments about the Swiss and her fellow tourists.
