I write and edit articles and books about gardening. I have written for numerous magazines, and have been a contributing editor for The American Gardener and Horticulture magazines. I have also worked as a Peace Corps volunteer, an organic hops grower, a manager for a public garden, and a horticulture teacher. But mostly I garden. I have a keen interest in edible plants, ornamental native plants and well behaved exotics, and sustainable gardening practices.
