very helpful and useful information, but would work better as a text in a course so that discussions could enhance understanding.

Emotional Poverty in All Demographics is a book every educator should read in order to understand where students' challenging behavior, emotional issues, and personal traumas are coming from. Educators need to be better equipped to face the realities that can surface in classrooms brought in by individuals' home and neighborhood environments. Poverty affects everyone no matter what demographics a person is from.

This book explores these concepts:
* How the brain is not integrated or regulated
* Underdeveloped inner-self
* When bonding and attachment are unsecure
* The external environment repeatedly encourages the feeling of "less than" or "separate from".

It also provides tools, strategies, examples, and understanding of how to address the emotional issues that are seen in today's classrooms.

Reading again to get prepped for introducing to my class in the fall. It is an important book when read with other books focusing on children and families.
