Critiques

This powerful anthology examines with clarity
and honesty the many aspects of violence
against women. The authors have collected
stories from writers of different communities
and countries, different races and generations,
different political and economic backgrounds
which results in a rare analysis of crimes against
women. The published works vary from personal
and critical essays to poetry and performance
pieces. What is particularly powerful about this
anthology is the ways in which the diverse group
of writers have fought back against violence
they have experienced or witnessed and how
they are making courageous efforts to not only
end violence against women but also heal and
empower themselves and other women.
