This fulfills my lifetime requirement for lesbian necrophilia! As about an 85-minute horror movie without all the pretentious bullcrap, this might have been effective. At least, against my expectations, it did have an ending, and the eyeball earned it an extra half star. But seriously, the idea of Elle Fanning as a woman other women see as so attractive that they....well, I won't spoil the plot. But seriously, she is attractive in her way, but hardly a great beauty. Put Charlize Theron at the same age in this role and it would have been a different story. And how much did they have to pay Keanu Reeves to be in this? Although he is quite effective as a really creepy motel manager. But unlike Norman Bates, Reeves's character is basically peripheral to the plot.… (plus d'informations)

Brosnan’s character is sexist, degrading, and not remotely amusing. Perhaps there is a world where vulnerable women are taken advantage of by older men supposedly in positions of authority. But if so, it shouldn’t be a topic for a (supposedly) humorous film.

On the positive side, the pace is good, some of the scenery attractive, and the ending satisfactory, at least from one point of view.

After the death of his favorite Author, Arthur O'Neill, high school freshman Will Morgan receives a first-edition, signed copy of Arthur's book, The Redstone Keep. When he receives the book, Will is transported to the world of The Redstone Keep where he meets the protagonist, Tam Desmond. Will quickly learns that everything written exists in a parallel universe that Will can access from the Betwixt and Between now that he has the Writer's Eye. With access to the world of the Written, Will also gains powers and a familiar. However, once Will accesses his powers, an evil force between the worlds begins to hunt Will so they can have the powers for themselves. With the help of his friends that have unlocked their own powers, Will must figure out a way to save the world of the Written.

Kingdom of Ink and Paper is a magical Young Adult fantasy that creates every enthusiastic reader's biggest wish- that the worlds in the books that we read are real. I did enjoy travelling to the Written world and seeing Will's favorite characters come to life. The explanation of the Betwixt and Between is well done and easy to understand. I do think some passages from The Redstone Keep would have helped to bring their world alive even more. Written for a middle grade audience, the characters are all fourteen to fifteen years old entering their freshman year. I would have loved to see more personality from Will and his friends. They did all have one talent that set them apart, I wish those would have transferred to powers in the Written world especially since their powers were magically and instantaneously attained without any training. I was also very interested in the element that they were fighting, how it exists in the Written world and what they will decide to do in order to stop the evil force and find a way to help the Written world.

This book was received for free in return for an honest review.
