Having worked in libraries for so long now, I didn't learn anything new from this, but it's still chock-full of good tips for new librarians.
Moyer, working on her doctorate in literacy education in Minnesota, knows the area of reader’s advisory quite well. She has pulled together some top notch experts in various genre areas and she has encouraged their work about having various formats explored in each of the genres. While this tome will date due to literature and format advances, it is a well organized and helpful addition to both public and school libraries doing this type of work.
Bottom line: Recommended for those who find the need to do any kind of reader’s advisory (now known as integrated advisory work) and need not only a concise overview of a genre but thoughts about what to suggest next in various areas. Especially helpful with YA work.… (plus d'informations)
