- A graduated from Harding College in the class of 1953 and preached for the Church of Christ continually until 2013. He was a conscientious objector during the Korean War. He was sent to prison and served thirteen months of a three-year sentence before parole. He was a published author of 3 novels (Thorn in the Flesh, A Beautiful Fascination, A Glorious Summer) and 1 autobiography (Be a Man, Son).
