This was a nice bit of escapism reading how poor Bernie is escaping an unbearable situation with her future ex-husband while exploring her very mysterious past. I especially loved the interactions with her toddler Mira and dealing with being wildly out-of-place with her new-found heritage. She’s resilient, resourceful and an ever hopeless romantic. The ending felt a bit rushed for a wrap up, but the slow meander to get there was an enjoyable read.
