Interesting and, as you would expect from Dorling Kindersley, well illustrated. However, a lot of the book is taken up with descriptions of regional variations in beans which is of limited use if you aren't planning to spend money hunting them down. There is some interesting background and also a decent number of recipes in the back though so not just a book for the coffee table or completely dedicated aficionados.
