Fibromyalgia can be a tough diagnosis to hear. Mostly misunderstood, often misdiagnosed, and frustrating to live with. This book makes it all a little easier to understand. It starts with the basics of what we know about the disease and puts into very simple terms. Then it goes into how it affects many other aspects of your life, include mental health and sleep. One important area it doesn't cover and I wish it did was that of diet. It talks a little about it, but not in enough depth to be really helpful there. I'd say overall, this is a good place to start, but any FMS sufferer will want to do more research.… (plus d'informations)

I have read so many books on Fibromyalgia, and this is one of the best ones ever. I wish I had this book 15 years ago when I was trying to figure out what was wrong with me and then research all the therapies out there for it. Highly recommend this book to anyone suffering from it or anyone who knows someone who is.

Dr. Marcus and Dr. Deodhar's "Fibromyalgia Toolkit" is a great practical resource not only for Fibro sufferers, but for those researching Fibro and looking for more information. They do into good detail about causes, symptoms, current research and then provide treatment protocols for managing Fibro. There are lots of great charts and graphs to illustrate many of their research findings, and great pictures of easy exercises geared towards Fibro pain. I would highly recommend this to anyone, not just women or Fibro sufferers, but for family members and anyone curious about this condition that is much more common than you might think.… (plus d'informations)

I've had fibromyalgia since the mid 1990s. Long before there were specific drugs for the disease, long before it became the "It" illness of the mid 2000s and the 2010s. I read up on my illness and went about living my life with it. Now fibromyalgia is the in thing to have and books and websites abound. I was interested to read this new book, mostly to find out what advances had been made in understanding the disease and the new medicines available to aid one in living with fibromyalgia.

This book contained an overview of the illness and certainly did help me to learn the latest information. It also provided information on medications such as Lyrica (which my doctor and I decided against since all the symptoms of fibromyalgia are the side effects of Lyrica), nutritional supplements, diet and exercise, and how to advocate for yourself and others with the disease.

I'd recommend it to someone recently diagnosed with the disease as a good introduction to understanding this complicated illness and learning how to manage different aspects of your life affected by fibromyalgia.
