I really liked this book! It wasn't overly scary, but it gave me enough chills and kept me glued to the pages.

The Wilpenny family just moved into a new neighborhood and they are starting to adjust to their new house. Their youngest son, Brandon decides to make friends with the neighbor kids across the street.

Brandon's new friends tell him stories of a possible haunting in his house but he pays no attention to it until he actually sees a shimmering mist in the kitchen one night.

After seeing the supposed ghost and gathering his friends for a Ouija board session, the ghost sightings escalate to the point of two of Brandon's friends disappearing.

The book picks up a steady pace as soon as the ghost makes itself known and the pace stays steady till the end. Giving the book three stars for keeping me entertained.

While the plot of this story is intriguing, the writing did nothing to hold my attention. My first impression: it read like a horror story for young readers. However, the creepy cover and one or two more gruesome scenes hint at an adult target group, and as such it did not work. The dialogues were really simple and the storyline held no surprises or suspense at all. Then, when I expected the book to end, there was still another chapter to go which for the most part was unrelated to the previous goings-on. It seemed like the author suddenly had the idea for another interesting character and wanted to store it somewhere, while it could have made a whole different story on its own. This is one of those books that just didn't work for me.

(I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review)

Deborah McClatchey has created a wonderful tale in this intriguing book “Evil In Disguise” that I found absolutely amazing. The book was recommended to me and I thought it was a fascinating short novel. Two small children Charlie Peters and his best friend Marlin visit a pet shop and they are attracted to a turtle that turns out to be not an ordinary pet but something totally unexpected. The story becomes very complicated when Victor the well known bully of their town steals the turtle and a series of unexpected killings and trouble begins.
The story becomes very intriguing when you find out that there is a captivating story behind the turtle. I would recommend the book to any reader that likes to spend time with a very interesting book.

Interesting "BUM MAGNET" is a great book with a very interesting subject. I love the way this author writes and the way she weaves a very good plot. It is a fast pace story that I truly enjoyed. Following Wendy's difficulties is heartwarming. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to spend some quality time with a good book.
