Bartok's Viola Concerto: The Remarkable Story of… par Donald Maurice
I found the history of this music not very exciting. However the author does a good job in the first chapter describing the circumstance of Bartok's move to New York and his dissatisfaction of living there. The following explanation of Primroses' request and Bartok's response is very good. The remainder of the history is clear, it just did not hold my interest well. Still, if you are a serious musician your interest in this history would probably be high and the book very worth reading.
