This was a really nice collection of pictures from western North Carolina, some of them from collections at Duke. I especially like the scenes of old downtown Asheville.

I really enjoyed this book of Durham postcards! There are interesting captions underneath the pictures which taught me a few things about Durham. Several homes and buildings are no longer standing, which is too bad. I learned there was a big fire in downtown Durham in March of 1914 that destroyed a number of buildings.

It was fun to see old postcards of Duke too! :)
