Taking a break from his humorous court jester series, MacDonald focuses on the funny situations Canadian police officers get into. Sections cover stupid crooks, wheel, prank, rookies, Mounties, critters and more. Some entries from the previous series show up as officer interact with members of the judicial system.

MacDonald captures humor in situations where it is least expected, or perhaps most inappropriate, the determination of innocence or guilt. There is a range of Canadian court scenarios covered. A favorite is the chapter titled “The Hall of Shame” where you find out that real is such a thing as a stupid question. Not every story, example, or scenarios will tickle the funny bones, but there are laugh aloud in public moments scattered throughout. Here are two groaners.

Q. What happened then?
A. He told me, he says, “I have to kill you because you can identify me.”
Q. Did he kill you?

A chap who acted for himself in fighting a robbery change asked the man who’d been robbed: “Could you see my face clearly when I handed you the note?”
