M. Stephen Lukac

I picked this book at the recommendation of a friend, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It takes place in Charleston, WV (which completely thrills me, because I grew up in WV) and involves a strange mix of multiple personalities, serial killers, life after death, and shop lifters. Lukac's writing is clear, and the themes and ideas introduced in this novel are incredibly intriguing. I can't wait to pick up Oogie Boogie Bounce, which I've heard is even better than this book.

My only complaint of the book as a whole is the character Philip Ducalion. He is a very important character - I won't say why because I don't want to spoil the book for anyone who hasn't read it. I just felt as if he was developed enough. He wasn't introduced until later in the book, and then I wasn't sure why he was introduced. It was all very unclear to me, and still is even though I've finished the book.… (plus d'informations)
