Useful to have an account from a Westerner. The author shares his deep development from these dark retreats through poetry and personal journals. The personal aspects depicting direct experience from the dark retreats take away some of the mystery and mystic aspects that some seekers seek from such an unordinary practice. This both helps the cause (see recent growing number of YouTube DMT-seekers who end up retreating from the retreat out of fear or when encountering their dark side) and makes the practice seem mundane (strange that he would still converse with students or commune with wife). This is a nice balance of the Tibetan practice with Western adaption. A deeper bibliography would be useful as well as an expanded appendix.… (plus d'informations)
