Yann Lovelock

You don't need to be a vegetarian to appreciate this book, which is one of my favourite works. Lovelock has compiled an account of close to every plant that is or was eaten by any people throughout the world. It's written in a scholarly but humorous and readable style that, like a good dictionary, hooks you into reading ten more entries for every one you look up. A marvel.
