Evangelist, Churches of Christ - Courte biographie
- Jimmie Lovell briefly attended Vanderbilt University, but dropped out to serve in the Navy in World War I. Following the war he began working for the DuPont Company, first as a professional marksman promoting their sporting ammunition products, then as a sales representative for mining products, and finally as a sales representative for construction-related explosives. He was well known in the heavy construction community, and started the industry paper America's Builders.
Lovell devoted his time away from work to building up the churches of Christ in the western United States, preaching and planting congregations. He was instrumental in the early development of Pepperdine University.
He was baptized by J.P. Watson in 1909 and he began preaching in 1915. His family had been members of the churches of Christ for 150 years. He is listed in Preachers of Today, Vol. 1, 1952, 205.
