I purchased this book toward the end of my tour of Iceland in June, 2010, but it has proved invaluable in helping me identify from my photos most of the wildflowers, and even some of the other plants I saw. The illustrative photographs are of excellent quality for the purpose of identification. A guide to plant identification is given at the beginning of the book, and the book is organized by color of bloom. Each description comes with a map showing recent sightings of the plant in question, and includes all of the descriptive information, and data on habitats and blooming periods, that aid so much in narrowing down an identification, if not actually confirming it. Drawings of single leafs accompany each plant's description. If you plan to visit Iceland, and have an interest in the flowering plants of that country, I'd recommend this book unreservedly. I'd also recommend that you try to purchase it while there, rather than buying it in the USA.
