It's difficult to review something, knowing so few people will ever have the chance to own or even see the book. I know I mostly review for myself, but that's because my memory bites, and I sometimes need the reminder to remember how I feel.

Not so here. I remember exactly how I felt, the day I found Glitch and was utterly entranced, and the day we found out it was going away, and that aweful, wonderful, tragic, exhilarating last day as what was left of a community partied through our very own apocalypse.

Yet I somehow feel like I need to say something. Leave one more little mark out there on the rockface of the internet about how much Glitch meant to some of us. Something tiny (a speck?) but almost perfectly formed, too good to last.

When the book finally, finally arrived (that's a whole story unto itself), I had a hard time reading it. I flipped through it a few times, and it sat on my coffee table, and every person who came through the house has picked it up and ooh'ed and aah'ed over the gorgeous art, and here I am 3 months later and I still haven't really read through it, end to end. But just knowing I have it, and that I could, makes me happy anyway. Glitch got me through a time I wouldn't wish to repeat. It was the perfect thing at the perfect moment, and I still miss it like crazy.

And since this is, ostensibly, a book review: The production values are fantastic, and the art is breathtaking--as it always was. And while there's never enough and of course I would like more, it is what we have, and I think the choices made about what to include were reasonable. It was actually worth the two year wait from the kickstarter to delivery.
