The author defines data visualization as the representation and presentation of data to facilitate understanding, and aims to provide an introductory textbook. The primary audience is students on various levels in social-science subjects with a need and/or an interest in data visualization. The treatment is quite comprehensive, covering the whole process from formulating a brief to working with data and establishing a communicative stance to developing a design solution including data representation, interactivity, annotation, color and composition. The book is well written and approachable, and my sense is that it will be quite useful also for interaction design students with a specific interest in data visualization.… (plus d'informations)
