The Late Blossoming of Frankie Green is the hilarious tale of what happens when Frankie decides she needs some sex education after her husband asks for a separation on their one year anniversary, thinking that is all she needs to fix their relationship.

Ok, it's so much MORE than that. It's smart, laugh out loud funny and touching in turns. The story entwines with those of her friend Em, who things she's odd and will never find love, and her friend Letty who always falls for the wrong guy and worries that no one sees past her looks.

Ultimately, it's a story about discovering oneself, changes, and accepting those changes - and seeing that in doing that, it can change the way we see others, too.

And, I confess, that having lived in Wales for almost four years, the language of these Cardiff girls made me a bit sentimental.

I was provided an advanced reader copy by Netgalley in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own!

With thanks to NetGalley for a copy of ‘Under a Starry Sky’ audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

I haven’t read anything by this author before, but she writes similarly to some of my favourite authors such as Cathy Bramley, Heidi Swain. This is a gentle lightly romantic family saga, exploring the lives of Wander and a number of her childhood friends. Set in Wales, the narrator proves to be a very entertaining story teller with some great accents and voices and a really easy to listen to voice, she complimented my bath time relaxation perfectly. I love the references to camp site visitor reviews throughout the book and could totally imagine myself as a bystander watching the lives unfold in this lovely little welsh village. All the main characters were warm and welcoming and the landscape so beautifully visual.

I will be looking out for other novels by Laura Kemp next time I’m in need of being whisked away to a different starry sky

I like books that take me to new places that I've never have been and also I will never go, even though I would like to go.
Laura Kemp is a new author for me and the story is very interesting. It is a story about grief, about finding yourself and letting go of things that hold you back.
If you are a hoarder I will give you a trigger warning because one of the characters is a chronic hoarder.
It is a love story and a story that has a lot of themes very relevant to our modern world.
It is a book about true friendships, family relationships and being yourself.
I deducted a star because sometimes the pacing was a little bit slow.
I am certain that I will look for other books of the author because I really liked her writing.
