3 months ago I read a book entitled "Irena's Children" about a woman who created a group of people who saved 2,500 children from the Warsaw Ghetto by spiriting them out of the ghetto and entrusting them to the care of Polish families nearby. This book would be a good companion because it shows you what those Polish families had to go through to hide, feed, educate, and nurture those children. I appreciated that this book was told from multiple viewpoints so that the reader gets a more full view of the complexities of the issue, especially after the war. Recommended.… (plus d'informations)
