A solid story of a zombie apocalypse. Somewhat unique, because we're at ground zero for it. I liked the pacing, and the main character was a thoughtful person in an apocalypse, not panicking and making really bad decisions. However, I'm giving it a rating of 3 instead of 4 for two reasons -- I didn't like the ending (too abrupt), and the book could have used another bout of editing.

The only reason it didn't get 5 stars was that....I wanted it to be longer. I wanted more interaction amongst The Raft people. I realize why we had the focus on Leah's Folly. It was perfect. But there were other "boats" amongst them and I wanted just a bit more. And I cried. (But could not cry much as the husband was there...he rolls his eyes when books make me cry) I will be searching out more of this author. I hope she makes me cry again.

The book is okay, but needs a great deal of work.
