Leo says:
How do you feel about it? Meh
What do you like about it? "When the doctor says no more pink cupcakes! You can't eat pink cupcakes if you're still pink. It's so silly"
What don't you like about it? "All the pink!"

Becca says: Man, I hate this book. Way to make vegetables seem like a gross punishment, and there doesn't seem to be any real consequences or moral. It's not particularly fun to read, either. It's not straight up objectionable, like a lot of "girl's books" are but it's still on my "try to lose" list

The dark side of being a pink princess. I didn't like my 3 yr old daughter reading this. Perhaps in a couple of years. Not nearly as clever as Silverlicious either which is the only other book of the series that I have read so far.

My children loved this book. Thankfully I received the cd that came with both Pinkalicious and Purplicious for the amount of times that they want me to read this book the cd has been a life saver! They will not go to sleep until they heard Pinkalicious 2x and Puralicious 2x! And I love hearing the kids quoting pinkalicious! Keep these books coming please!!

This story is great for students to stay true to themselves no matter what others think. I felt sad for the young girl, as she gave up who she was in order to better fit in, even though it made her very sad. She pretended that she didn't like the color pink anymore because some unfriendly girls at her school said that it was not a great color, and that black is better. I love how in the end, Purplicious appears and shows her that she fearlessly loves the color purple. Pinkalicious is then able to go back to her true self and that's what matters.

This book is about a little girl named Pinkalicious Pinkerton who eats too many pink cupcakes and turns pink. Thankfully, the doctor knows the cure: eat more green healthy food! The book is best for beginning readers to read on their own.

This is one of those books that's supposed to have a moral, but the moral is totally lost in the celebration of all things pink. And I really dislike the way it villainizes all green foods, even grapes! I make a point of naming all the foods on the green food page that my little one loves to eat. Not a fan, but she loves it, because...it's so pink!

Pinkalicious loves all things pink from fairy dresses to cotton candy to bubblegum. Her parents warn her not to eat too many pink cupcakes, but she keeps eating them. She eats so many she turns herself pink! The story follows Pinkalicious as she tries to figure out how to no longer be pink. In the classroom I would use this book to show students how puns and fake rhyming words can be used to add to the story.

This is the sequel to Pinkalicious. Pinkcalicious has to learn the power of pink after her classmates start to tease her.

I️ enjoyed it. It was about a girl who ONLY loved pink, but met a friend who wanted to mix colors with her which made her fall in love with something different too.

I know these books are incredibly popular and maintain their popularity with a tv show, but after reading the first book, I’m not sure I get it. All i see is a whiny child that does not like to listen, and turns herself pink in the process. Then red. She doesn’t do what she is told, and only does so under protest, and then complains. I don’t get it. But on to the next on.

This book was much better than book one. Pinkalicious is still whiny but we see another side of her. Most of the girls in school are over the color pink. It’s on to black now. Until she makes a new friend that shows her what magic can happen when you mix pink and blue. Still not impressed with this series, especially because of the “licious”. I blame Beyonce. She had a major hit with Bootylicious, and now we are stuck with “licious” in our lexicon.

Oh, this is so much fun! Sophia introduced me to it, and I've since given it to Emma, who loves it, too. It should single-handedly spark a run on pink cupcakes.

I had to read this to my child 20,000 times. based on only that, this merits 5 stars.

This book tells a story about a girl who is fascinated with color pink. Everything must be in pink. However, she gets teased because of it, but at the end she learns to accept herself and love other colors as well. This will be a great book to use I n social studies to teach students the importance of individuality and the acceptance of anyone who is different. I myself really love the color pink

This book is about a young girl that is obsessed with all things pink! She loses self control and eats so many pink cupcakes that she turns herself pink. This could teach students about self control and it could engage in conversation about colors/what they love.
