Cade and Lily’s story was one full of angst, anger, and so much more. Cade is the bad boy hockey player with a chip on his shoulder and hockey is his only chance to get out of the life he has been in. Lily is a smart girl that isn’t afraid of Cade, but knows she should steer clear of a guy like him, yet fate keeps throwing them together. The push and pull between them could set the pages on fire and yet they both harbor secrets and insecurities that keep them at a distance. My heart hurts for all Cade had endured in his lifetime and when everyone wants to throw it all in his face I was angry with him. Lily at times was frustrating when it came to standing up for herself to her parents. I loved the storyline and how much Cade wanted Lily that he dared anyone else to go after her. All I wish was we had more time with them as a couple after all the ups and downs I wanted more of them in their happy moments. When Charlie sets out to find her sister who has been on a path of self destruction, the last thing she expects to find it herself wrapped up in a crime scene. Charlie and her sister are the only family they have and as the oldest Charlie has taken it upon herself to be Lucy’s parent figure. Charlie is not only book smart but she is also street smart understanding the situation her sister got them into isn’t something that they can just run to the police with, so she has to be the smart and strong one to get them through this. As the head of the mafia in AC, Renato is ruthless with the poker face that could take anyone down, but his first interaction with Charlie has him confused yet intrigued. Renato isn’t one to give second chances but for Charlie he does multiple times and once he decides he wants her he always gets what he wants. The push and pull between Charlie and Ren is hot and intense,but Charlie is stubborn and fights Ren tooth and nail until the attraction becomes too much. This book kept me on the edge of my seat with a lot of action, intense moments, and emtional moments that hits your heart, but I could not stand Lucy. Lucy was a spoiled brat that came from nothing, but was sheltered by her sister who done everything for her by sacrificing herself mentally, emotionally, and physically so she could have a decent life and Lucy pretty much threw it all in her face. There were a few times Charlie should have smacked reality literally in her sister’s face or Ren should have put the fear of God in her so she would sit down and shut up. Other than Lucy being a selfish brat this story was hot and I loved it.… (plus d'informations)
