Really remarkable and unusual. The parts of the book are not too well stitched together at times, but the quality of the writing, bar a few typos, is excellent. In the Balkans, apparently Serbia, a psychology student meets an interesting girl--and her other boyfriend, tries to avoid the draft, engages in violence, and becomes involved in the weird experiment of a colleague. This book is a little bit slasher, a little bit Flowers for Algernon. In its oddity, it reminds me of the work of one of my new favorite writes, Eric McCormack, but this is odd in a different way, and not obsessed with seagoing or natural disasters. I just recommend you read this book. It is a trip worth taking, and its mixture of science fiction with factual elements of science and psychology is very well done.
