EducatingParents.org rating: Approved
Book written in 2009 so not necessarily up-to-date for current year. It does contain good basic information to share with children.

Wow! Wow! WOW~!

This is the most excellent read, and every single parent or adult who is in charge of keeping a child safe can read before their child experiences the world wide web.

Right away, this book identifies predators as 'bad people' and calls them out by calling them predators. It explains on page one exactly what that means.

It explains step by step what a child should do if they are being bothered by someone. Throughout the book, the child is reminded that things they see can be embarasing, and not to be afraid of the web. It encourages children to be open with adults, and never be ashamed of the way they feel when being exposed to things a predator may send through. The most important message that this book re-enforces to children is "This is not your fault" And places the blame of a predators actions right and exactly where it should be- on the predator.

The book does not stop there- it continues to re-enforce a child's worth by sharing photos of other children who seem to be dealing with really scary emotions like fear of telling. It explains how a child can get help, and how the police can capture the predators that try to harm children online, by setting up online sting operations, and positively promoting the police as the helping hand that keeps them safe.

If I could give this book ten stars, I would.
