Alice Ivinya

One of the things I love best about Alice's writing is that she asks and answers questions that the original fairy tales ignore. Why was the prince looking for Rapunzel? What is in the rest of the tower? And what is the deal with Rapunzel's fantastically long, magical hair?

But that's just a start. She took more tropes than I even knew could be in the story and turned them all on their heads. I couldn't help laughing at the stodgy young secretary, the naive prince, and the multitude of con artists in this tale. And then there is the princess. To be honest, she's something of a piece of work at the beginning, but I think there is something about having someone unconditionally believe in you that changes a person. Or maybe it just draws our what was in them all along.

Another fantastic story from a fantastic author, one that made me think and filled me with utter delight.
