When I saw this book at my favorite book store I had to buy it. It contains over 3,000 color combinations from the ColourLovers.com website. Since this website is so big, it crashes my computer every time I try to open it. This book is a good substitute even though I won't see the newest color combinations that are on the website. Another great item about the book is that a CD containing 3,286 downloadable swatch files. 20 pages are devoted to color theory. Munsell's Color System, Commission Internationale de l'Eclair-age (CIE) color values, associations and meanings of color and the LGBT community's colors. I didn't know the LGBTers had their own colors or flags.

The color combinations are organized by color, ie, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, brown and grey. For each color there are combinations based on several styles such as monochromatic, analogous, triadic, split complementary and complementary. This book is a great resource for me. After making a few quilts in several colors, I wanted to do something different. Since I am a traditional quilter I want to find more interesting color combinations. Color Inspirations fills that desire. Since I don't have a color printer to print out swatches, I take the book with me to my local fabric store and look for fabrics that match the color combination that I have selected.

I highly recommend Color Inspirations. It has helped me to create fabulous quilts and my friends always say "I would have never thought to put those fabrics together in a quilt." I think it will be a helpful resource for you too.
