A well-written overview of the dire situation of the Rohingya minority in Rakhine state in Myanmar (Burma) describing a situation verging on genocide. Most people of Rohingya heritage have been stripped of their citizenship (including voting rights) and have been herded into detention camps. Ibrahim shows that the situation is right for a sudden act of genocide or expulsion of the group given any sort of national disaster such as a wide-scale revolt or a cyclone. The only flaw is that once he makes his point about two thirds of the way through, he begins to repeat his arguments. Highly recommended as a history of this internal conflict but also as an overview of Myanmar's history of the past 200 years and the current political situation at the national level.… (plus d'informations)
