What’s it about?
“Stammtisch-Parolen” is the German synonym for the populistic, often prejudiced, misogynistic and racist thoughts and over-simplified problems and solutions exchanged in everyday life. (Examples: Immigrants smell bad, they steal your job. All politicians are corrupt and lazy anyway. Unemployed people are lazy and parasites and just not willing to work.)
Hufner shows methods to deal with and contradict such sayings. Moreover, he puts an emphasis on the importance of interfering – not leaving the public space to bigots and racists only because they are louder than others.

How was it?
It is a great little book with excellent methods to contradict: Hufner’s suggestions might seem “straightforward anyway” but it is a huge help to have them all summarized and demonstrated via concrete examples. They can’t only be used in “real life” but can also help to deal with hate posts on Social Media! A pragmatic and useful handbook!
